So, you’re after some examples of good Airbnb titles? Well you have come to the right place. My goal in this article is to teach you how to write catchy names for your listing that convert.
The title is one of the most important aspects of your listing. Your Airbnb title needs to be attention grabbing as it’s the first thing a guest will see. It must be short and sweet, but also detailed enough to explain your property. Oh, and you only have 50 characters available, so make them count!
Yes, writing a catchy title is no easy task, but I am going to show you some proven ways that work.
How do I choose an Airbnb name?
First things first, how do I choose an Airbnb name? Start by using catchy words, knowing your audience, and by doing a great job showcasing your space. You only get 50 characters, so it’s a good practice is to abbreviate words.
Writing a catchy name for your Airbnb is a great way to draw in guests. Guests scroll the search results with speed, so you must stand out from the competition.
Get this wrong, and it will affect your booking rate in a bad way. So it pays to put a lot of time into this area of your listing. Get it right, though, and you will be snatching bookings off your competition in no time.
Here are six examples for writing a catchy name for Airbnb rentals.
Tip #1 – Use all 50 characters
Airbnb gives you just 50 characters for your title, so be sure to use all 50. In other words, don’t make your title too short. Remember that this is your one chance to make an impression.
Sometimes this is tricky to fit what you want to say inside just 50 characters. Using a tool like WordCounter.net is a good tool for counting characters. With that in mind, I come to my next point – using abbreviations.
Tip #2 – Use abbreviations
Consider using abbreviated words for your Airbnb title. Particularly if you are having trouble fitting your words into the maximum space. By that, I mean A/C instead of air conditioner, or BR instead of bedroom. You get the idea.
You’ll notice many of the best Airbnb titles use abbreviated words. The best bit is guests will understand what you mean. I also recommend using symbols and emojis (I cover this later on).
You could write something like ‘Family Home with 4br and an A/C‘. Try out some of the examples below.
Try these examples:
- BR = Bedroom
- A/C = Air Conditioner
- CBD = Central Business District
- DT = Downtown
- W/ = With
- & = And
- APT = Apartment
Tip #3 – Know your audience
It’s important to know your audience. For example, how can you write catchy Airbnb titles if you don’t know who you are marketing to?
So who is your target audience? Do you cater more towards families? Perhaps your audience is mainly tourists? Students, professionals and business executives are other target markets for Airbnb hosts.
Example of Airbnb guest types
- Vacationers: (on holiday, looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to relax)
- Business travelers: (will need fast internet, desks, etc)
- Weekend escaper: (a quick getaway from their daily routines)
- Family travelers: (specific requirements, often for children)
- Romantic getaway: (cozy atmosphere and private amenities)
- Budget traveler: (price conscious and after affordable accommodation)
- Adventure seeker: (after outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, swimming, etc)
For example, if your Airbnb is close to Disneyland, you’d write “near Disneyland” in your title.
Another tip is to change your title seasonally. For instance, in summer mention your swimming pool. Meanwhile, in winter, you could say mention your toasty wood fire. You get the idea.
It’s also worth noting that changing your Airbnb title can help give you a little rankings boost too.
So to summarise, make sure your Airbnb title appeals to your target audience.
Tip #4 – Showcase your space
One of the best tips I can give you is to showcase your space in your title. By that, I mean highlighting any unique features or services.
Consider including things like free parking, a swimming pool, Netflix, newly renovated, free WiFi, self check in, and so on.
Some examples of good Airbnb titles may be ‘Centrally located w/ free parking & Netflix‘. Another could be ‘Family apartment w/ self check in & swimming pool‘.
Tip #5 – Use catchy words
If you want to write a catchy name for your Airbnb rental, it makes sense to use catchy words right?
First, I want to warn you against using “boring” words in your Airbnb titles. That means words such as good, nice, great, amazing, fantastic, best and so on. In other words, don’t use words that are a dime a dozen. They are so commonly used and they will not grab the attention of potential guests.
Also, never, ever use CAPITAL LETTERS under any circumstances! Using caps is akin to shouting on the internet
So what are catchy words? Generally speaking, they are emotionally triggering words. For instance, catchy words will draw attention and evoke a response from your title.
Catchy word examples in Airbnb titles:
- Luxury
- Executive
- Rustic
- Secluded
- Modern
- Historic
- Hidden Gem
- Oasis
- Vintage
- Bright
- Lavish
Tip #6 – Omit irrelevant words
You can save space in your Airbnb title by omitting irrelevant words. I recommend not mentioning how many bedrooms your place has in the title. Nor do I suggest clarifying if your space is a private room or an entire place.
The reason is, the type of place and the total number of bedrooms appear under your title anyway. It means you are doubling up and costing yourself precious space.
Another reason is many guests will filter the property type and number of guests they need. If your property appears in the search results, they will already assume it has ‘2 bedrooms’ or is ‘an entire place’.
Examples of words to avoid
- Great
- Nice
- Good
- Cheap
- Bargain
- Small
Furthermore, I find it unnecessary to list the suburb or neighborhood your place is in. I say this for two reasons; First, it’s unlikely a guest will know anything about your specific neighborhood. Second, they are already searching in your area for a reason.
In summary, get their attention with a catchy Airbnb name or title. Then once they are on your listing, use your description to sell the neighborhood.
Examples of good Airbnb titles
Okay, now you know how to write a catchy name, but I bet you want some examples of good Airbnb titles, right?
I’m going to show you some perfect examples of Airbnb titles that have nailed my six points above. I’ll also show you an example of a title that falls flat. See if you can spot it!
My Analysis:
Example #1 – This is an example of a good Airbnb title. Having a catchy name like ‘Sovereign Cottage’ in your Airbnb title is a fantastic idea. The addition of self check in and free parking is a great example of how they showcase their space. Straight away guests have a feel for what they are going to get with this property. A lovely photo accompanies the title which works in tandem to draw attention.
Example #2 – Another good example of a host showcasing their space well. They have used catchy words such as ‘modern’ and ‘homely’ that evoke emotion. The abbreviation of the word CBD lets you know the space is centrally located in just 3 characters. Meanwhile, words like suite, pool and gym informs you of the highlights of this property. It’s also worth noting the ‘15% in Sep’ banner which immediately draws the eye in.
Example #3 – A great example of a host who knows how to market to their audience. It’s likely people staying here will be visiting Disneyland and/or Knotts Berry. Straight away this Airbnb title draws tourists into the listing. I like the use of catchy words such as ‘luxury’ and modern’. Guests know exactly what they are getting before they even click through to the full listing. This is exactly how you maximise your Airbnb conversion rate!
Example #4 – I bet you guessed this one as the bad example right? It’s a terrible Airbnb title, it really is. First of all, they have used capital letters – this is a massive turnoff. Second, the listing tells you nothing about the property or any features. Third, there are no catchy words used, nor do you know anything about the location. All you know is the street name and the suburb. Who cares?!

How to add symbols to Airbnb Title?
Something I often see are hosts using symbols and emojis in their titles. So you may be wondering how to add symbols to an Airbnb title?
Competition is fierce and you need to stand out, so adding a symbol or emojis is a good way of doing this. Another benefit is it allows you to save space in your Airbnb title. For example, you could use a ❤ instead of the word ‘love’.
How to add symbols to Airbnb titles
- Go to a website like CoolSymbol.com
- Select the symbol or emojis that you like
- Click the icon to add it to your clipboard
- Paste your new symbol on your Airbnb listing
There are thousands of symbols and emojis to choose from at the site above. Some of the emojis include objects, flags, transportation, buildings, animals, drinks & food.
How many characters in Airbnb title?
As shown above, you may use a maximum length of 50 characters in your Airbnb title. Therefore you should be using as close to that amount as possible to showcase your listing.
With this in mind, I suggest using a website like lettercounter.com when writing your title. It’s a very handy tool that counts characters as you type.
Likewise, it’s a good idea to use abbreviations and symbols to free up space. Try and avoid using dead words, or doubling up on words.
